CoinMarketCap reveals best, worst crypto gainers in early 2024
Leading crypto price tracker website CoinMarketCap reported 1INCH, Filecoin, and Klaytn as the topmost gainers with double digits on January 1.
1INCH started modestly during the New Year night with a peak of $0.436 trading price before undergoing a price surge in the morning. When the surge peaked in the afternoon, 1INCH reported a trading price of $0.538127.
Even though the surge has lessened since then, 1INCH still performs admirably with the latest trading price of $0.487, exceeding its average trading price in the last week of December 2023.
Filecoin (FIL) earned the second-highest spot on January 1, peaking at $7.98 with a more steady price surge compared to 1INCH. As of January 2, FIL has had a 9.46 percent increase since decreasing from its peak performance on January 1 with an average trading price of $7.57.
Klaytn (KLAY) by the industry-leading South Korean IT company Kakao became the third-highest top gainer after FIL, currently earning the trading price of $0.24 with a 5.08 percent increase in the last 24 hours.
Despite the recent Orbit Bridge hack, KLAY remains stable, and its increase percentage is unaffected after recent announcements from The Klaytn Foundation on the incident.
Worst performers in early January 2024
Not every coin has had a good start in 2024. According to CoinMarketCap, several coins, such as Helium (HNT), Maker (MKR), and Neo (NEO) earned the spot as the top three out of the five worst performers as of Tuesday.
HNT reached a trading price peak of $7.07 in the last 18 hours after a 3.26 percent decrease. While not up to par with HNT’s peak on December 20, 2023, with a price surge capping at $9.41, it is still more well-performing compared to its performance in late November and early December 2023.
Although MKR peaked on the morning of January 1 at $1,751.18, it has since suffered a 2.68 percent decrease, leading to its latest trading price of $1,647.48.
NEO continued the majority of its poor performance since late December 2023, when the coin only had some price surges on December 31, 2023, and January 1, which exceeded the $14.15 trading price.
NEO earned the $14.08 price in the last 24 hours, rendering it nearly similar to the coin’s average trading price several days earlier.
